Half the Exam Is the Part a Question Bank Skips

Chairside dentistry is half of General Chairside.
Procedures are forty-five percent of Restorative Functions, and isolation another quarter.
That is a lot of exam riding on things you do rather than things you recall.

The standard prep product for these exams is a bank of multiple-choice questions with an answer key. It is genuinely useful for terminology, for numbers, and for the parts of DANB®’s blueprints that are recall. It is close to useless for the parts that are a sequence, a setup, or a technique — because a list of four options cannot ask you to do anything, and reading the right answer is not the same as producing it.

So this product drills those directly. Not as a video you watch, and not as a simulation of a patient — as work with a right answer that the engine can check, put in front of you at the moment your profile says you need it.

Relabeling — anatomy and instruments

A diagram arrives with its labels stripped. You put them back — and then write one sentence saying what the structure does or what the step accomplishes, because naming a thing and understanding it are different tests.

Radiographic technique

Half of Radiation Health and Safety is purpose and technique. Elongation and foreshortening are the classic pair people can define and still cannot tell apart under pressure, so they get drilled against each other until the distinction is automatic.

  • The error and its cause — not just what went wrong, but which adjustment made it happen

The exposure-control breach spotter

You are given an operatory sequence, written out as it happened. Tag every infection-control and radiation-safety breach in it. Scoring weights them by how serious each one is, because missing a glove change and missing a sharps handling failure are not the same mistake.

Regulation lookup

Find the governing provision in a simulated reference browser and cite it. Knowing that something is required is one skill; being able to show where it is required is a different one, and it is the one that gets asked on the floor.

A drill shows up because of what your last hour revealed, not because it was next in a menu.

Interleaved on purpose

Recall work and procedural work alternate rather than sitting in separate modules — a terminology set, then a sequencing drill, then a scenario that uses both. Interleaving is uncomfortable and it is what makes the recall survive the week.

Aimed where you are actually weak

If you sequence instrument processing flawlessly, you stop being asked to. If your radiographic errors keep tracing back to vertical angulation, that is what keeps arriving.

Wrong answers get diagnosed, not just marked

A missed step in a coronal-polishing sequence is traced back to whatever it actually depends on — and if that turns out to be something in another part of the material, a short refresher on it appears before the next attempt rather than after.

It fits the day you actually have

One thing this page does not claim. Interactive charting — marking restorations and conditions on a tooth chart — is real work and it is on the roadmap, not in the launch product.
